24-10-2026 - Saturday, the 24th of October, is the Night of the Night. This is an initiative of the Dutch Provincial Environment Association. And at night there are plenty of communities, outdoors and a home for the light, with light protection and energy savings in the light environment. Visit ligthouse 't Hoge Licht: what do you see when it's dark?  The 't Hoge Licht lighthouse is open from 7-10pm. Look over Westkapelle, Walcheren and the sea in the dark. 02-11-2026 - Walking tour on Monday, November 2, 2026, following in the footsteps of the Allied soldiers. Join the walk! For several years now, a commemorative walk has been held the day after the remembrance ceremony in Westkapelle, following the route of the liberators. Everyone is welcome to take part in this special walk on Sunday, November 2. We will depart at 8:30 a.m. from the Polderhuis, and our destination is the Landing Monument near Uncle Beach in Vlissingen. Along the way, we will pass various monuments and memorial sites where attention will be paid to the liberation of Walcheren.
