Time: 11:00 - 17:00

Come to the Polderhuis in Westkapelle on Wednesday, 12 August. Between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., the Polderhuis garden will be full of activity and fun.

Activities for young and old

For children, there are various creative activities and games. Today, they can make lighthouses out of cups. They can also paint kites or create shell frames.

Demonstrations by the Wasschappelse Heiploeg and handicraft market

From 1:00 p.m. onwards, there will be demonstrations by the Wasschappelse Heiploeg. Dressed in traditional clothing and singing “ouwerwesse,” they show how the wooden pile heads used to be placed in the past.

The ladies of the handicraft club “de Mutsen” sell handmade products such as oven mitts and bags with a Zeeland twist, and there is also lovely children’s clothing for sale. At the “Creative Homegrown Market,” you can browse a variety of unique, homemade creations.

If you’re in the mood for something tasty, you can buy a freshly baked waffle. Music on the terrace is provided by “Dubbelzinnig.”

Horse‑tram ride and kite show on the dike

At the Polderhuis, you can hop on the horse‑drawn tram for a ride through the village. Riding along is free, though a voluntary contribution is welcome. The Zeeuwse Vlieger Vrienden are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, they will display their most beautiful kites on the sea dike—a colourful spectacle.
