On the Westkapelle Wednesday of 29 July, a lively market will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Zuidstraat near the Polderhuis. Come along, enjoy the atmosphere, and who knows—you might find something nice to take home!

Activities for children, woodburning workshop

For children, there will be various creative activities and games throughout the day in the Polderhuis garden. Today, they can colour wooden lighthouses, among other things. There will also be a woodburning workshop for only €2.00 per person (fun for everyone aged 10 and up).

Find bargains at the market

For lovers of traditional clothing, Walcheren costumes and farmers’ attire will be available for purchase. The ladies of the handicraft club ‘de Mutsen’ sell handmade products such as oven mitts and bags with a Zeeland twist, and there is also lovely children’s clothing for sale. If you’re in the mood for something tasty, you can buy a freshly baked waffle.

Music, horse tram and kite show

The musical entertainment on the terrace will be provided by the Troubaboer. Want to discover Westkapelle in a special way? Hop on the horse tram at the Polderhuis for a ride through the village. Riding along is free, though a voluntary contribution is welcome. The Zeeuwse Vliegers Vrienden are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, they will display their most beautiful kites on the sea dike—a colourful spectacle!
